Fulfillment Planned Around the Order

The appropriate fulfillment method depends on what you are purchasing.

An order may include:

  • Welded wire fence panels
  • Chain link fabric
  • Ornamental steel panels
  • Long fence posts
  • Top rail and framework
  • Pedestrian or driveway gates
  • Privacy products
  • Security extensions
  • Fittings and hardware
  • Palletized or bundled products
  • Complete fence systems

Large, long or heavy materials may require a suitable truck, trailer, loading method and securement plan.

Pickup or delivery availability will be confirmed as part of the quotation and order process.

Pickup

Pickup may be appropriate for customers who have access to a suitable vehicle, trailer, load-securing equipment and handling plan.

The pickup location, available date, time and instructions will be provided in the applicable order confirmation.

Do not travel to collect an order until CerKa has confirmed in writing that the materials are ready and the pickup arrangement has been scheduled.

Before Collecting Your Order

Confirm the following before arriving:

  • Order or quotation reference
  • Customer or company name
  • Confirmed pickup location
  • Confirmed pickup date and time
  • Product quantities
  • Longest material length
  • Largest panel or gate dimensions
  • Approximate load size
  • Suitable vehicle or trailer
  • Required straps and securement equipment
  • Person authorized to collect the order

If another person or carrier will collect the materials, provide their name and contact information before pickup.

Bring the Right Vehicle

The customer is responsible for confirming that the pickup vehicle and trailer are appropriate for the order.

Consider:

  • Bundle or pallet size
  • Load distribution

A passenger vehicle, pickup truck or small utility trailer may not be suitable for every fence-material order.

CerKa does not authorize unsafe, overloaded or inadequately secured transportation.

Load Securement

Fence materials must be protected and properly secured before leaving the pickup location.

Depending on the order, the customer may need:

  • Rated tie-down straps
  • Edge protectors
  • Blocking
  • Dunnage
  • Protective blankets
  • Suitable trailer sides or racks
  • Weather protection
  • Flags or visibility markers
  • Additional securement for long products

Do not rely on packaging alone to secure the load.

The driver is responsible for inspecting the load and complying with applicable transportation and load-securement requirements.

Inspect the Order Before Departure

Before leaving the pickup location, the customer or authorized carrier should review:

  • Product descriptions
  • Quantities
  • Visible dimensions
  • Colour or finish
  • Panel types
  • Post types
  • Gate sizes
  • Fitting packages
  • Visible product condition
  • Documentation provided with the order

Any visible shortage, incorrect item or apparent damage should be reported before departure and documented according to the applicable order terms.

Signing or accepting the order may confirm receipt of the listed materials, subject to the terms included in the applicable documentation.

  • Institutional property
  • Public-sector property

Different site types can have different access, receiving and unloading requirements.

The customer must disclose conditions that could prevent the delivery vehicle from entering, turning, unloading or leaving safely.

If safe access is unavailable, an alternative delivery location may be required.

Who Is Responsible for Unloading?

Unloading services should not be assumed.

Unless the quotation or delivery confirmation states otherwise, the customer must be prepared to provide appropriate personnel and equipment to receive and unload the materials safely.

Depending on the order, unloading may require:

  • Forklift
  • Telehandler
  • Crane or lifting equipment
  • Suitable material-handling equipment
  • Trained personnel
  • Adequate staging area
  • Protective supports or dunnage

The unloading method must be appropriate for the product dimensions, weight, packaging and site conditions.

Do not attempt to manually unload products that cannot be handled safely.

Delivery Location and Material Placement

Delivery normally refers to transportation to the confirmed accessible receiving location.

It should not be assumed to include:

  • Carrying materials around the property
  • Moving products through buildings
  • Distributing materials along the fence line
  • Installation
  • Excavation
  • Removal of existing fencing
  • Assembly
  • Unpacking every component
  • Placement in an inaccessible or unsafe area

Any additional placement or handling service must be specifically discussed and confirmed in writing, if available.

Preparing the Receiving Area

Before delivery:

  • Clear the receiving area
  • Remove vehicles and obstructions
  • Ensure adequate turning space
  • Confirm stable ground conditions
  • Prepare dunnage or supports
  • Keep the public away from the unloading area
  • Arrange required personnel
  • Prepare unloading equipment
  • Confirm the receiving contact is available
  • Protect the materials from traffic, moisture and damage after unloading

Fence panels, posts and gates should be stored in a stable location where they will not fall, bend, shift or create a hazard.

Delivery Dates and Timing

CerKa will review the requested date as part of the quotation or fulfillment process.

A requested date or time is not guaranteed until it has been confirmed in writing.

Delivery timing can be affected by:

  • Product availability
  • Order preparation
  • Special-order items
  • Carrier scheduling
  • Destination
  • Traffic
  • Weather
  • Site access
  • Equipment availability
  • Changes to the order
  • Events outside CerKa’s reasonable control

Customers should avoid scheduling installation crews or equipment solely on an unconfirmed delivery request.

Multiple Products and Partial Availability

A complete fence order may include products from different categories or sources.

Panels, posts, gates, fittings and accessories may not always become available at the same time.

When this occurs, the available options may include:

  • Waiting until the complete order is ready
  • Scheduling more than one pickup
  • Scheduling more than one delivery
  • Reviewing approved substitutions
  • Revising the required date

Any split shipment, additional trip or substitution must be reviewed and confirmed before fulfillment.

Additional transportation or handling charges may apply when identified in the applicable quotation or order documentation.

Changes to Pickup or Delivery

Contact CerKa as soon as possible if any of the following changes:

  • Required material date
  • Delivery address
  • Site contact
  • Receiving hours
  • Access conditions
  • Unloading equipment
  • Product quantities
  • Gate dimensions
  • Pickup vehicle
  • Authorized person collecting the order

Changes can affect pricing, availability, preparation and scheduling.

A change is not accepted until CerKa confirms the revised arrangement.

Missed or Unsuccessful Delivery

A delivery may be unsuccessful if:

  • No authorized receiver is available
  • The address is incorrect
  • The site is inaccessible
  • The receiving area is unsafe
  • Required unloading equipment is unavailable
  • Access restrictions were not disclosed
  • The delivery vehicle cannot enter or turn safely
  • The customer refuses or cannot receive the order

Rescheduling, return transportation, storage, waiting time or additional charges may apply when stated in the applicable terms or carrier documentation.

Material Storage After Delivery

After receiving the order:

  • Verify the quantities
  • Document visible condition
  • Store products on stable supports
  • Keep materials away from standing water
  • Protect finishes from abrasion
  • Separate incompatible materials where required
  • Prevent panels, posts and gates from falling
  • Keep fittings and fasteners together
  • Retain product labels and order documentation
  • Follow manufacturer storage instructions when available

Improper handling or storage can damage finishes, bend materials or make component identification more difficult.

Shortages, Incorrect Products or Visible Damage

Inspect the products during pickup or delivery whenever it is safe to do so.

If there is a concern:

  • Identify the affected product.
  • Take clear photographs.
  • Record the quantity.
  • Retain packaging and labels.
  • Note the issue on available receiving documentation.
